Summer's Over
Meredith is back at work again, and our babysitter/nanny person isn’t due to start working for us for a couple weeks, so it’s just me and Audrey on our own again, like the last six months. August was meant to be a catch-up/get ahead month for me, since Mer was off all month. I succeeded to a degree, but I really wanted to have more done.
The new neighborhood offers a lot less in the way of time-killing destinations. When I would walk Audrey in Park Slope, we could go to the Barnes and Noble, or the music store, or any number of other cafes and boutiques. The options in Ditmas Park are limited, and more often than not we’re at the awesomely-named Hot Spot Tot Lot. Or hopping on the B to go back to the Slope for some essentials.
2008 is going to be a busy year for me, like 2006 was, in terms of work seeing print. DMZ and Northlanders will be two ongoing monthly books, then The New York Four, the Local collection, then something else quite exciting and unexpected I’ve been terrified to even hint at lest I jinx it, but I’m feeling confident now.
Oh, and it seems more likely than not that The Couriers movie will begin filming in ‘08.
